What I Knitted This Summer

This summer was spent knitting scarves, for two main reasons.

First in May I went to Denver for my niece’s graduation. While I was there I saw my friend Maurine. She’s a fabulous friend who even though she doesn’t knit, took me to several yarn stores. While looking at scarves in a store she mentioned that the artisan store she works in just can’t keep scarves in stock. She said if I’d knit them, she’d take them to the store to sell.

Second our family vacation was 10 days in Egypt. I needed projects that were varied, interesting, small, and could be done on needles that wouldn’t be taken away. So since I impulsively bought lots of scarf yarn (how can you resist the beautiful colors and textures) and I don’t wear scarves, I knitted scarves all summer. What a perfect solution; projects for my trip to Egypt, getting rid of lots of scarf yarn, and MAYBE being paid.

Here are pictures of the scarves.

You don't wear scarves at all? Never? Not one? They're gorgeous! I'd reconsider before letting some of those beauties go.
