UFOs Finished!

This weekend I finished several things. First I finished all the knitting of the four Christmas gifts. I have to block everything and one item needs to be seamed. I'm hoping to get all that done over the long 4th of July weekend. (I get 4 days off!!!) I'll share pictures of these after Christmas.

Also I seamed the Silk Tile sweater. I finished the knitting last November, but it's a summer sweater and..... well you know that seaming is not my favorite thing to do (grin).

Here is the sweater and a close up of the back. Because of the lace panel in the back, the back was stretching. It caused the front to be so wide it would slip off my shoulders. So I ran cotton yarn across the back, anchoring it every 5 stitches. And now it fits perfectly.

I also finished seaming the Manos cotton sweater.

Since all the UFO waiting to be seamed are done, I started working on my Cara again. I have the fronts and back done. Now is the fun part, the lace panels at the bottom. I casted on and started.

Here's what it looks like.

For me casting on is exciting. Doing something new, wondering what it will look like, understanding a new pattern. It's like going on a trip to a place you've never been before.

Lace is especially fun because each row is interesting and watching the pattern emerge is rewarding.

You're getting so good at lace! Your Silk Tile Sweater is GORGEOUS -- does it come in other colors...like maybe...pink?
