One of the projects I started is the Shared Borders cardian from Sally Melville's The Knitting Experinece Book 3: Colors book.
I bought the yarn at Stitches West from WEBS. It is from Valley Yarns and called Stockbridge. It's 50% Alpaca and 50% wool. Nice and soft.
I have finished the back and am in love with the result!

This is a way fun pattern to knit. It's done with intarsia panels (like the baby blanket I did) and a bit of fair isle technique to move the border back and forth.
I also started the DeColores Jacket from the
There are 4 of us making this jacket. All knitter friends of mine. I set up a yahoo group so we could keep in touch, ask questions, and post pictures. This sweater is constructed of strips of mosaic knitting. Twelve strips for the body and four strips for each sleeve. I'm making a small and each panel of the body is only 20 stitches. Oh ya, small, the small chest measurement is 48.5 inches. A small what is the question. It is designed to be oversized, but on me, I would be able to invite others to join me in a 48.5 inch sweater.
Each panel is suppose to be 4 inches across. So I dropped down a needle size and my strips are coming out about 3.5 inches. This will increase a bit with blocking and seaming, which is done by picking up the edge of two strips and using a 3-needle bind off. So I hope it will fit me.
I am using Noro Cash Iroha (a silk, lamb's wool, cashmere, nylon blend) for the main color (shown as black in the picture above) and SWTC Karaoke (50% soy silk and 50% wool) for the varigated yarn. Here is one finished and one in progress strip.

There should never be any guilt when starting new projects -- starting new projects eats up stash -- eating up stash allows for more stash enhancement...see where I'm going here?
