One Down

My main focus now is to finished the 4 projects I have on-needle. This is because Julie, Jocelyn, and I have decided to do a knit-along. This will not be the usual knit-along because none of us are knitting the same thing (LOL). But we are all going to knit lace shawls. For Julie and I, this will be our first lace shawl.

Jocelyn is doing
this, Julie is doing this, and I am doing this. We are all also members of a book club where we do not all read the same book. But read what we want and then recommend books to each other. So having a knit-along where we are not doing the same thing actually feels normal.

So before we begin these shawls, we decided that we need to finish up what is currently on-needle. For me that is the Cara sweater, Shared Borders sweater, DeColores sweater, and a Round Trip sweater.

As of yesterday, I have one down. I finished the Cara sweater!!

So now all I have to do is knit two more strips and seam the DeColores, do the sleeves on the Round Trip, and the Shared Borders..., well I only have the back and 1/4 of one front completed. Our goal is to start the shawls the week between Christmas and New Years.

I do think I can get these done by then - maybe. I was thinking I could mine available knitting time by: sending IOUs for Christmas gifts, hire a driver to take me to and from work, serve only sandwiches for meals, stop taking showers, and teach my feet to knit (this one seems a bit iffy).

It just occurred to me that I finished all my knitted Christmas gifts last month so that I wouldn't be under any knitting pressure at the end of the year. It seems like such a good plan. (LOL)

I thought your knitalong doesn't start until the retreat, which gives you a whole extra week.

The Cara sweater looks lovely!
