More Handspun
Here is my latest handspun. This is 50/50 merino/silk. I bought the fiber at Purlescence. I've even started knitting it. The pattern is Cross-Stitch Scarf by Margaret Halas from the 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders book. I choose this pattern because as you can see, my yarn is thick and thin. But not evenly thick and thin nor evenly twisted.
I think the stitch pattern helps even out the look of the yarn. This pattern calls for bulky yarn, but when I saw a sample of this scarf, I loved the pattern but didn't like the resulting scarf. It was very thick and rather stiff. So I used the needle the pattern called for (10.5) with my yarn. I really like how it's coming out.
