A Very Victorian Day

On December 5th, I had the most lovely day. First I slept in! This is a big deal and a rare treat. Then I showered and met with my girl friend Jocelyn at Lisa's Tea Shop in the Pruneyard. I love going there and haven't been there for over a year. If you've never been, it's like stepping back in time. The servers wear black dresses, long white aprons with lace trim and small lacy caps. There is china and nice linens. The music is soft, the pace relaxed, and the service gracious. When you are ready to order or need anything you ring a bell.

Here is what we had for lunch.

Then I went home and took a nap. Another rare treat. Got up ran a couple of errands, had a small dinner and then Karin can over to help me do my hair. You see, that night was the No Snow Ball. Karin was wonderful and after David and I were dressed, she acted as our photographer.

I wore a late Victorian gown made by another friend - Amy. She also made an ascot and pocket hanky for David and my hair ribbons. The silk was bought for me by my friend Cherry when she had to go to India on business. I found the patterns for the gown with the help of my friend Julie.

Here we are ready to go to the ball.

Thank you my friends one and all. I am blessed and my life is richer because of you.

I love Lisa's Tea Treasures! The food is so good, and the atmosphere is so relaxing & elegant. I usually don't leave without buying a little something from the gift shop too!
