Birthday Scarf

In August I gave myself a birthday party. I finally took the time to get pictures.

I told everyone instead of gifts to bring a ball or skein of acrylic yarn, which will be used by my Charity Crafters group.

Here is the yarn I received. Everyone was so generous.

Also if they wanted, they could bring a bit of any kind of yarn to be used to knit a section of a scarf for me. Non-knitters brought yarn and had others knit their section. There was also a knitting journal, which after they knitted their section, they signed and put a piece of yarn in the journal. So I know who knitted each section.

Here is the scarf. I need to cast off and weave in the ends. It's a little over 6 feet long and just wonderful.

In addition to all the wonderful yarn, people gave me a Starbucks card, a gift card to Michaels and cash, which I used to buy more yarn for charity, a knitting bag, knitting books, needles, a Red Hat pin, measuring spoon, potpourri,

and...

This fabulous yarn from Great Adirondack (from Fae, who know this is just so me), which I'm going to make into a necklace.

and...

This hand knit baby alpaca shawl designed by my friend Alison
(www.spindyeknit.com/).

Isn't it just exquisite!!!

That shot of all that yarn is almost impossible to look at without suddenly needing to go grab some yarn out of the stash and start something new. Cool!
