I was very good at Stitches West this year. Usually I buy quite a bit. But right before Stitches, I looked a every yarn in my stash. This kept me from even wanting to buy much. Ravelry also helped. I queued the projects I want to knit soon. It's a long list. I have the yarn for most of the projects, so I don't really want more yarn. But I did buy some.
This is merino/mohair from Ellen's Half Pint Farms (my favorite vendor). I bought it because of the wonderful peach color. I have a friend who loves this color and it's really hard to find. I got 2 skeins so I have enough to make her a sweater.I bought enough of this Newton Country merino/cashmere (at only $6 for a 300+ yard skein) for a Rams Wool cardi. The picture doesn't show the color well. This is a lovely dark gray yarn.
And that's all the yarn I bought!!
I bought "Button Up Your Top Top Down" from Cabin Fever, a 1 yard niddy noddy, and a pin from Black Water Abbey.
I modeled my Julia's Shawl by Alison. Alison's first book, Wrapped in Comfort, was published last June. Alison belongs to our knitting guild and 10 of us made and modeled our shawls at Stitches.
But truly, the best part of Stitches this year was that my Mother-in-Law, Pat, came and we went to Stitches together. We had a blast. This was her first Stitches and she was impressed!
