On Super Bowl Sunday, several yarn stores had sales and knit-ins. My friend Jocelyn and I decided to go to a relative new store in our area called Full Thread Ahead. They had a variety of different sales during the game and we choose to go to the half-time sale where everything, yes EVERYTHING was 50% off. But there were rules, which made it fun.
Before half-time everyone had to be outside either the front or back door. When half-time started they blew a whistle and we all rushed in. You could not use bags or baskets. You could only buy as much as you could carry. You had to be in line to pay before half-time ended and once in line no one could bring you more yarn.
Well let me tell you, I can carry lots of yarn. The hardest part was not dropping it while I stood in line for 10 minutes. My arms were aching. But it's amazing how much pain you will put up with for 50% off!!!
I was truly a Super Bowl Champ that day. See what I bought!!!!Ull by Dale of Norway. See the wonderful (free) baby sweater pattern at the top. Below the pattern is the cream and light and dark green for the sweater.
I also bought 2 needles and 6 balls of Karaoke.
The Ull I bought on Super Bowl Sunday is to go with this Ull I bought at the same store a few weeks earlier. I'm making several of the sweaters from the Soft treasures for little ones book. When I bought this Ull I saw a bag by Lantern Moon that I really wanted. I didn't get it because, 1. It was expensive, 2. I don't need another bag, 3. I received two fabulous bags for Christmas, 4. I need to save my money for Stitches West.
But I never forgot about the bag. Usually with stuff like that, I see it, love it, want it, leave the store, and forget it. But this time I didn't forget. Anytime someone mentioned the store, I thought about the bag. So at the 50% sale ..... you guessed it!!!! I bought the bag!!
This was my touch-down with 5 seconds left in the game and a score of 21 to 16, their favor. This was the game winning purchase! It feels so good to be a champ! LOL
